A total Solar Eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017, and the Moon’s shadow swept across the United States, from west to east, beginning in Oregon and ending in South Carolina. In less than a month, the eclipse ushered hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, three of the costliest hurricanes in U.S. history.
WAS IT RARE
Eclipses are quite common. We usually have two sets of eclipses each year.
What is rare is for the path of a total Solar Eclipse to traverse only one nation. The last time this happened was in 1257, but the United States had not yet been born. The next total Solar Eclipse to graze American soil exclusively will not happen until 2316!
In 2011, there were three sets of eclipses and an additional eclipse ten days before the start of the year; in effect, there were seven eclipses within a short period of time. Since eclipses usher big changes, years packed with eclipses can be very challenging and life changing.
HOW WILL ECLIPSES AFFECT ME
Let's look back to the eclipses in 2017.
A Lunar Eclipse occurred on August 7, 2017 at 15° Aquarius (opposite the Sun in Leo). It affected those born with personal Planets and Points at 13° to 17° Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius (fixed signs).
A Solar Eclipse will occurred on August 21, 2017 at 28° Leo. It affected those born with personal Planets and Points at 26° to 30° Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
