Manila, April 30, 2019 - Peter is a prosperous fellow. Grace flows wherever he goes.
You see, Peter is the engineer of a scenic village with four homes. His job is to regulate the flow of water. When tourists come to visit in spring, Peter turns the valve to the left. When they leave, he turns the valve to right, making sure the flow is just right.
In the summertime, before the reservoir's water level drops, Peter changes the pipe to a smaller one to maintain the right pressure. . . .
JUPITER & THE BEE
A queen bee from Mount Hymettus ascended to Olympus to present honey fresh from her combs. Jupiter, delighted with the offering, promised to give whatever she should ask.
"Give me, I pray thee, a sting, that if any mortal shall approach to take my honey, I may kill him," implored the bee.
Jupiter was displeased for he loved the human race, but he could not renege on his word. Jupiter thus replied, "You shall have your request, but it will be at the peril of your own life. If you use your sting, it will remain in the wound you have made, and you will die from its loss." . . .
MANILA, March 12, 2019 - There have been ominous undertones of death lately. It's not that a planet is causing more deaths—it is just in our faces at this time thru the news, social media feeds, and sadly, when a loved one passes away.
Recently, a plane crashed and there were no survivors. Today, I watched a documentary on Philippine president Duterte's war on drugs and the brutal killings that came with it. And then, came a friend's lament on how short life is.
This Plutonian undertone will continue thru January 2020. It will not blow away anytime soon. Hopefully, my saying this will make you—in your own way—become more accepting, more introspective, and more understanding of Death. . . .
